Teen angst in the early 1960s. A young girl must move because of her father’s new job, after having lived her first thirteen years in the warm cocoon of close friends, family ties and community spirit. The move results in big tragedies and small triumphs. She endures a fractured skull, desegregation and the horror of the JFK assassination close by. Plus, she is a nerd. A dream date saves it.
